Job Purpose
Under the supervision of a supervisor, the Programme Associate provides specialized programme and administrative support to facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF's programmes. This role involves significant engagement in data analysis, budget tracking, reporting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery and compliance with organizational rules. The incumbent will exercise judgment, anticipate needs, and recommend actions that contribute to programme planning, implementation, and reporting results. The position aims to enhance programme efficiency and effectiveness through robust support in project management, data utilization, and operational processes, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's mission and standards.
Responsibilities
The Programme Associate will support overall project planning, execution, and monitoring for assigned initiatives, assisting in the establishment and operationalization of implementing partnership management functions by coordinating risk assessments (Due Diligence, PSEA, Micro-Assessment, Spot checks). They will work with Programme Managers and stakeholders to ensure Funding Authorization and Certificate of Expenditures (FACE) requests are aligned with workplans and processed timely, while monitoring prompt liquidation of Direct Cash Transfer (DCTs). The role includes contributing to collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative programme data, generating regular reports, dashboards, and presentations on key performance indicators and donor reporting, and supporting the application of digital and AI tools for data synthesis. Additionally, the associate will regularly track budget allocations and expenditures using systems like SAP, monitor grant utilization, support grant reprogramming or extension processes, and prepare periodic grant management reports. They will also contribute to funding proposals and statutory reports, and utilize AI and digital platforms to streamline repetitive tasks, serving as a resource for digital platforms like SAP and Power BI. The role involves drafting communications, maintaining document repositories, contributing to knowledge generation, supporting onboarding, and assisting in the organization of capacity development activities and event coordination.
Work Experience
A minimum of six years of relevant work experience in programme support, administration, or a related field is required. Experience with UN or UNICEF systems and procedures is an asset.
