Job Purpose
The consultancy aims to select an individual consultant with the required technical capabilities and experience to administer the Secretariat of the Education Sector Coordination Agency in Burkina Faso. The consultant will report to the Chief of the Education Section and be directly supervised by the Education Specialist for Quality and System Strengthening. The primary goal is to ensure better harmonization of interventions within the education sector and improve educational outcomes, particularly in implementing the priority reform of ensuring access to education in a challenging security and humanitarian context. This role is crucial for transforming the country's education system and strengthening national public policies.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for capitalizing on reports from joint monitoring missions of the Education Sector Plan. They will support sectoral coordination among local partners, including ministries of education, technical and financial partners, and civil society, through effective and inclusive dialogue. This involves collaboration to transform the country's education system according to the priority reform and strengthening national public policies. Additionally, the consultant will support fundraising efforts with the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) by preparing, implementing, and monitoring funding proposals. They will also facilitate communication with the GPE through close collaboration with the GPE Secretariat, ensuring a smooth flow of information and alignment of efforts.
Work Experience
At least 10 years of confirmed experience in education sector coordination. Experience in coordinating partnerships with GPE (proposal preparation, program development, partner selection) is required. Experience working with government, civil society, technical and financial partners, UN agencies, the private sector, and communities in sectoral coordination is also necessary. Experience in strategic analysis of reports, plans, and policies is essential.
