Job Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the Administrative and Finance Associate, the Driver provides safe, reliable, and courteous driving services for the transportation of authorized personnel, visitors, consultants, and UNICEF partners, as well as for the delivery and collection of documents, supplies, and other goods necessary for office operations. The role ensures adherence to traffic laws, road safety regulations, and UN security procedures, prioritizing the safety of passengers, transported goods, and the vehicle. The Driver is also responsible for maintaining the vehicle, managing vehicle documents and records, and providing logistical and administrative support as needed to facilitate office operations and staff movements.

Responsibilities

1. Provide safe and reliable driving services: Drive UNICEF vehicles to transport authorized personnel, consultants, visitors, and partners. Ensure timely delivery and collection of mail, documents, diplomatic bags, and other official items. Strictly adhere to traffic laws, road safety regulations, and UN security procedures at all times. Guarantee the safety of passengers, transported goods, and the vehicle. Plan routes and adapt journeys based on traffic and security conditions. Demonstrate courtesy, discretion, and professionalism in interactions with internal and external clients. 2. Ensure vehicle maintenance and upkeep: Conduct daily vehicle checks before use. Regularly verify levels of oil, water, fuel, brake fluid, and tire pressure. Keep the vehicle clean, in good working order, and compliant with safety standards. Immediately report any breakdown, mechanical anomaly, or repair need. Monitor scheduled periodic maintenance and technical inspections. Ensure the permanent availability of mandatory safety equipment. 3. Manage vehicle documents and records: Maintain the vehicle logbook accurately. Record trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance operations. Verify the validity of vehicle documents, including insurance, registration, and technical inspection. Prepare required reports and information related to vehicle use and maintenance. Retain vehicle administrative files in accordance with applicable procedures. 4. Provide logistical and administrative support: Support logistical activities related to staff and visitor travel. Participate in loading and unloading light equipment when necessary. Assist in the preparation of field missions. Provide any other administrative or logistical support compatible with the functions of the position.

Work Experience

At least 2 years of relevant experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system with a safe driving record.
