Job Purpose

The Child Protection Specialist will lead and contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of evidence-based and sustainable child protection programmes in Armenia. The role will provide technical guidance and strategic support to strengthen national child protection systems and services, address violence, abuse, exploitation and other risks faced by children, and advance inclusive, community-based and family-focused solutions in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and UNICEF’s priorities. This position is crucial for ensuring that UNICEF Armenia Country Office effectively supports the government and partners in creating a safe and nurturing environment for all children in the country.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate programme/project development and planning in child protection – lead and contribute to situation analysis, strategic planning and programme design, ensuring that UNICEF’s Child Protection priorities are informed by evidence, national priorities and emerging trends. - Manage programmes, monitor progress and deliver results – oversee the effective implementation, monitoring and evaluation of child protection programmes, ensuring results are achieved, resources are used effectively and lessons learned inform future programming. - Provide technical and operational coordination – provide technical guidance and operational support to government counterparts, civil society, UN agencies and other partners, helping translate UNICEF policies, standards and evidence into effective child protection interventions. - Build networks and partnerships – develop and maintain strong partnerships with government, national and international organizations, donors, and other stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise for child protection initiatives.

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of professional experience in child protection, social development, or a related field is required. Experience in programme management and implementation is desirable.
