Job Purpose
The Health Officer will provide professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the Health Programme within the Country Programme. This includes support across the entire programme cycle, from development planning through to the delivery of results. The role involves preparing, executing, managing, and implementing a range of technical and administrative programme tasks to support effective programme development and implementation, ensuring systematic programme progress monitoring, and contributing to the evaluation and reporting of results. The position aims to support the realization of the rights of every child, particularly those most disadvantaged, in line with UNICEF's mandate.
Responsibilities
Support to programme development and planning, including research, data collection, and analysis to inform programme strategies. Programme management, monitoring, and delivery of results, ensuring timely and effective implementation of health-related activities. Technical and operational support to programme implementation, providing guidance and assistance to partners and stakeholders. Networking and partnership building with government counterparts, NGOs, and other UN agencies to enhance programme effectiveness. Innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building by identifying best practices and promoting learning within the health sector. Contribute to the evaluation and reporting of programme results, ensuring accountability and evidence-based decision-making. Ensure systematic programme progress monitoring and provide regular updates on key performance indicators. Facilitate the integration of cross-cutting issues such as gender, equity, and child protection into health programmes.
Work Experience
At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in Health, Health and Nutrition, Health Care, Public Health, Maternal and Child Health, Immunization, Health Programme Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Capacity Building, Partnership Development, Health Emergency Preparedness, or other related fields is required.
