Job Purpose
The Child Protection Officer (NOA) for Bhashan Char will dedicate 70% of their time to supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the child protection program in Bhasan Char. The remaining 30% will focus on supporting the Cox's Bazar program, specifically in programme monitoring and community-based child protection. This role involves providing technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process, applying skills in research, data collection, analysis, and presentation. The officer will learn and apply organizational rules and procedures to contribute to the development and formulation of the Child Protection Programme within the Country Programme, ensuring children and families receive essential protection support in line with agreed standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
The Child Protection Officer will support programme development and planning, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's mandate and equity strategy. They will manage, monitor, and deliver results for child protection programmes and projects, ensuring timely and effective implementation. The role requires providing technical and operational support to field teams and partners, facilitating the delivery of child protection services. Networking and partnership building with local stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders, are crucial for strengthening the protective environment for children. The officer will also contribute to innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the child protection sector, sharing lessons learned and best practices. This includes facilitating communication and dialogue with local stakeholders and affected populations to enhance child protection mechanisms and ensure adherence to international standards and best practices, reporting to the Child Protection Manager and collaborating with the Child Protection Specialist for guidance.
Work Experience
At least 1 year of relevant work experience in Child Protection is required.
