Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to develop a future-ready WASH workforce at the Global WASH practice, equipping professionals to deliver the scale and ambition of the WASH-GAP programme. It seeks to enhance the capacity of UNICEF global, satellite, and country teams to drive systems transformation, effectively engage with markets and the private sector, and navigate complex financing landscapes. The initiative promotes continuous learning and structured talent development, ensuring workforce capabilities align with emerging sector demands. A key focus is advancing gender equality by promoting parity and strengthening women's leadership within the UNICEF WASH workforce, contributing to institutionalization of robust capacity development.
Responsibilities
Develop and validate a TEAM (Technical, Entrepreneurial, Analytical, and Managerial) framework for UNICEF WASH teams, establishing a clear foundation for workforce development. Identify structured learning pathways and map existing talent management efforts, proposing new approaches linked to career progression to enable systematic professional development. Contribute to strengthening the pipeline of WASH talent at entry, mid, and leadership levels. Enhance engagement with private sector actors and financing partners. Implement targeted efforts to increase the representation and leadership of women within the WASH workforce. Support the institutionalization of robust capacity development initiatives across the UNICEF WASH global programme. Ensure the framework and pathways are inclusive and address diverse needs within the WASH sector, promoting a culture of continuous learning and adaptation.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in human resources, talent management, capacity building, or programme management, preferably within the WASH sector or international development. Experience in developing frameworks and learning pathways is highly desirable.
