Job Purpose

The consultancy aims to provide technical support for the implementation, monitoring, and strengthening of UNICEF Argentina's MUNA Ambiental line. This involves following up on the environmental action plans of municipalities already engaged in MUNA and designing a focused work proposal for a selected group of 10-15 municipalities to develop or improve environmental projects. The consultant will contribute to consolidating results, developing local capacities, and ensuring the effective execution of environmental strategies within the MUNA framework, aligning with UNICEF's commitment to children's rights and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

Monitor the implementation of environmental action plans for municipalities currently participating in the MUNA program and with ongoing projects. Design and implement a targeted work proposal for a select group of 10 to 15 municipalities, focusing on the development or enhancement of environmental projects. Provide technical assistance and support to local authorities in planning, designing, and managing environmental programs. Facilitate participatory processes related to environmental issues and access to services within communities. Contribute to the consolidation of results achieved through the MUNA Ambiental line. Develop local capacities in environmental management and risk prevention. Ensure alignment of municipal actions with UNICEF's goals for children's rights and environmental sustainability. Prepare reports and documentation on project progress, outcomes, and lessons learned. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including government officials and community representatives. Support the overall monitoring and evaluation of the MUNA Ambiental initiative.

Work Experience

Proven experience in project management and technical assistance related to planning, design, and management of programs for rights fulfillment in environment, risk management, and/or water and sanitation. Specific experience in technical assistance and/or training for state authorities, preferably at the municipal level. Experience in designing and implementing participatory processes in environmental and service access issues in communities.
