Job Purpose
The project aspires to enable Greece to efficiently protect and promote the rights and well-being of children and their families, including those at risk. The consultancy is expected to support the Greek authorities in safeguarding the rights of children and operationalizing an effective and mature child protection system. This will be achieved through operationalizing the National Mechanism for the Monitoring and Evaluation of Action Plans for the Rights of the Child, developing a new National Action Plan for Child Rights (NAPCR) with a robust Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework, and developing an effective consolidated governance mechanism for the child protection system, defining the multiple authorities involved and their roles in cross-sectoral cooperation at all appropriate levels.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for supporting the operationalization of the National Mechanism for the Monitoring and Evaluation of Action Plans for the Rights of the Child. This includes developing the necessary frameworks, guidelines, and tools for effective monitoring and evaluation. Additionally, the consultant will lead the development of a new National Action Plan for Child Rights (NAPCR), ensuring it aligns with international standards and incorporates a robust M&E framework. A key responsibility will be to develop an effective consolidated governance mechanism for the child protection system. This involves clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of various authorities and establishing mechanisms for cross-sectoral cooperation at all relevant levels. The consultant will provide high-level policy advice on child rights, drawing on international standards and best practices, and will work closely with government institutions and multi-stakeholder coordination mechanisms to ensure successful implementation of project objectives.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of proven professional experience and skills in child rights, public policy, and social policy. Demonstrated experience in designing/strengthening national child rights frameworks and providing high-level policy advice. Experience working with government institutions and multi-stakeholder coordination mechanisms.
