Job Purpose
Under the PROSPECTS partnership, UNICEF and partner agencies are working to strengthen the inclusion, participation, and development opportunities of forcibly displaced and vulnerable adolescents and young people. This consultancy will support the design and implementation of an inter-agency Youth Network Group, primarily focusing on PROSPECTS countries and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, while also facilitating engagement with Eastern and Southern Africa. The Group will provide a structured platform for young people, especially those affected by displacement and vulnerability, to contribute to programmes, advocacy, and decision-making at country and regional levels. The assignment emphasizes meaningful youth engagement in MENA, fostering collaboration and learning across regions.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for the overall coordination and management of the Youth Network Group. This includes conducting consultations and designing the Group's structure and operational framework. They will manage the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process for network members. Developing a comprehensive roadmap and workplan, including capacity strengthening initiatives for the youth network, will be a key responsibility. The consultant will coordinate meaningful youth engagement activities, ensuring young people's voices are integrated into programme design and advocacy efforts. Furthermore, they will lead advocacy initiatives, facilitate learning exchanges, and manage knowledge products related to youth engagement. Collaboration with UNICEF PROSPECTS country offices, UNHCR, ILO, other partners, and young people across MENA and Eastern and Southern Africa regions is essential. The role involves developing communication and advocacy materials, documenting activities, and delivering agreed outputs within the consultancy period.
Work Experience
3 to 5 years of relevant professional work experience in international development, advocacy, knowledge management, youth engagement, or related programme support. Experience with UNICEF or other UN agencies is highly desirable.
