Job Purpose
The Partnerships Manager will contribute to the promotion of children’s rights in Afghanistan by collaborating with the Resource Mobilization team and others to ensure the exchange of knowledge. The role involves enhancing and developing partnerships and engagement with donors, negotiating and capturing fundraising opportunities, and ensuring high-quality, effective stewardship of donor resources. The incumbent will manage a team of professionals, ensuring capacity is in place to deliver effective partnerships. Furthermore, the role supports the Country Office advocacy within the scope of the assignment, executing assigned work-plans and supporting senior management in defining resource mobilization and advocacy direction and design.
Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Chief Partnerships and Resource Mobilization, the Partnerships Manager is responsible for supporting the delivery of the overall country resource mobilization strategy and plan. This includes collaborating with the Resource Mobilization team and other stakeholders to facilitate knowledge exchange and strengthen partnerships with donors. The role involves actively seeking and negotiating fundraising opportunities, ensuring effective stewardship of donor resources, and managing a team to build and maintain strong partnerships. The incumbent will also contribute to the Country Office's advocacy efforts by executing assigned work-plans and providing support to senior management in shaping resource mobilization and advocacy strategies. This position requires proactive engagement with a diversified base of partners, including Development Banks, traditional donors, and emerging markets, to achieve ambitious fundraising targets.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of professional experience in partnerships, resource mobilization, fundraising, or a related field, preferably within a humanitarian or development context. Experience in managing teams and working with diverse donor groups is essential.
