Job Purpose
As a Strategic Business Partner and Deputy for the Head of Office, the incumbent will lead for results, drive change, and provide risk-informed, solution-focused analysis, advice, and services. This role is crucial for contributing to programme and management decisions that deliver results for children across all operational contexts in Tanzania. The position involves acting as Officer in Charge in the Head of Office's absence and ensuring effective management of various operational support functions, including budget, finance, facilities, administration, supply chain, ICT, and security, to achieve a unified vision for the country office.
Responsibilities
The Deputy Representative Operations will lead by example and support the Head of Office in managing the country office, including acting as Officer in Charge when necessary. Key responsibilities include managing operational support functions such as budget, financial management and reporting, facilities management, administration, supply and logistics, ICT, and safety and security. The role involves ensuring staff development through career planning and succession initiatives. As a member of the Country and Senior Management Teams, the incumbent will represent organizational risk, governance, and policy perspectives, promoting results-based management. This includes understanding business needs, anticipating challenges, proposing innovative solutions, and implementing value-for-money strategies with quality assurance. The role also involves leveraging technology for results, supporting audit reviews, guiding supply and logistics strategies for programmatic needs and value for money, and overseeing business transactions for efficiency and risk management. Additionally, the incumbent will lead facility management with a focus on accessibility and sustainability.
Work Experience
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in operations management, financial management, supply chain, administration, or a related area, with at least 5 years at the international level. Experience in a developing country context is desirable.
