Job Purpose

The National Digital Learning Consultant will support UNICEF Myanmar's Education Section in expanding digital learning opportunities for foundational literacy and numeracy, as well as providing skilling opportunities to adolescents. This role is crucial given Myanmar's humanitarian crises and the urgent need for children to access safe learning opportunities to mitigate extended learning losses. The consultant will contribute to piloting and scaling innovative low-tech and digital learning solutions, particularly for disadvantaged children with limited access to private or online learning. The aim is to significantly increase access to education technology over the next two years, ensuring marginalized learners, including those in conflict-affected areas, can continue their education and skill development.

Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and scale-up of digital learning initiatives, with a focus on foundational literacy and numeracy, and adolescent skilling. This includes managing or administering Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other digital learning platforms, ensuring user management, content administration, and maintenance of online/offline learning resources. The role involves developing and facilitating capacity-building activities for government counterparts, implementing partners, educators, and facilitators, including creating training materials and providing technical support. A key responsibility will be analyzing platform usage, learner engagement, user feedback, and other programme monitoring data to inform strategy and improvements. The consultant will also prepare clear technical reports, dashboards, data visualizations, and presentations to communicate findings and progress. Effective collaboration with UNICEF colleagues, implementing partners, technical teams, educators, and other stakeholders will be essential for successful project execution and integration within UNICEF Myanmar's education programme.

Work Experience

A minimum of five years of professional experience in digital learning, education technology, learning management systems, or education programme implementation. Experience managing LMS/digital platforms, supporting digital learning initiatives in low-resource settings, developing training materials, and analyzing programme data is required.
