Job Purpose
The Education Specialist (Learning Assessment) will provide high-level technical assistance and strategic support to advance UNICEF’s global agenda on learning assessment. The role will guide UNICEF’s work on strengthening national learning assessment systems and their use at all levels for increasing learning outcomes, with a particular focus on early learning and foundational learning. The Specialist will provide technical assistance to UNICEF Country and Regional Offices, national governments, and partners to develop, implement, and use learning assessments that inform sector policy, planning, and financing, school monitoring, and classroom instruction. The role will also contribute to global standard-setting, the development of methodologies, and partnerships to promote equity-driven, inclusive, and actionable learning assessments that support system-wide education reform, equitable resource allocation, and education programming in emergency settings.

Under the supervision of the Senior Advisor, Education (Education Financing), the Education Specialist (Learning Assessment) will provide high-level technical assistance and strategic support to advance UNICEF’s global agenda on learning assessment. The role will guide UNICEF’s work on strengthening national learning assessment systems and their use at all levels for increasing learning outcomes, with a particular focus on early learning and foundational learning. Work Experience
A minimum of five years of professional experience in education, with a focus on learning assessment, including experience in developing countries.
