Job Purpose
The National Consultant on Data Visualization will provide crucial technical support to UNICEF Turkmenistan. This role involves the design, layout, data visualization, and production of various communication materials, publications, reports, and advocacy products. The consultant will focus on key sectors including Climate Change, Health and Nutrition, and Child Rights Monitoring. A primary objective is to ensure all created materials adhere to UNICEF's branding guidelines and accessibility standards, presenting information in a user-friendly, visually engaging, and audience-appropriate manner. This consultancy aims to enhance the quality and impact of UNICEF's outreach and reporting in Turkmenistan, contributing to evidence-based advocacy and improved information dissemination.
Responsibilities
The National Consultant will undertake several key tasks across different sectors. In Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), responsibilities include designing and laying out Turkmen-language manuals for Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and DRR across five disciplines, and producing certificates, banners, posters, social media visuals, and event materials for the Green School Certification and International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. Support will also be provided for the Green School Certification process and the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) 2026 Youth Statement. For Health and Nutrition, the consultant will design and lay out a Recipe Book for Parents, the Final School Nutrition Environment Report, and the Home Visiting Assessment Report. Illustration and visual material development for a Basic Life Skills Manual and the creation of infographics, data dashboards, and communication assets for nutrition and health messages are also included. In Child Rights Monitoring, the consultant will develop communication and advocacy materials for the MICS Data for Kids initiative, design user-friendly products for MICS+ findings, and create data visualizations, infographics, fact sheets, web graphics, and digital content for MICS+ results dissemination. Adaptation of visual products for the UNICEF Turkmenistan website and social media, and support for presentations and knowledge products based on survey findings are also key duties.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in graphic design, publication layout, data visualization, branding, and producing communication materials is necessary. Proven experience in designing reports, publications, manuals, policy briefs, advocacy materials, and learning resources is essential, along with demonstrated expertise in data visualization and infographic development.
