Job Purpose
The purpose of this internship is to support the continuous improvement and effective use of the Emergency Preparedness Platform (EPP 3.0). The intern will contribute to platform quality by identifying bugs, validating new functionality, translating user feedback into Product Backlog Items (PBIs), and assisting with testing and operational support. This role is crucial for ensuring the platform effectively meets UNICEF's preparedness needs and strengthens organizational readiness through improved data accessibility and streamlined processes. The intern will work closely with the Emergency Preparedness team and platform developers, gaining valuable experience in software testing, data validation, and user support within a humanitarian context.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the continuous improvement and effective use of the Emergency Preparedness Platform (EPP 3.0) within the Emergency Preparedness team. Key responsibilities include conducting platform testing to identify bugs and validate new functionalities. This involves meticulous data validation and the accurate documentation of identified issues, contributing to the platform's improvement. The intern will also provide user support, assisting with queries and contributing to knowledge sharing and training materials. Additionally, the role involves supporting emergency preparedness activities, ensuring the platform effectively supports preparedness analysis, planning, and decision-making across UNICEF offices. This includes translating user feedback into actionable Product Backlog Items (PBIs) and collaborating with developers to implement enhancements, ensuring the platform remains a robust tool for organizational readiness.
Work Experience
6 months to 1 year of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or data validation (internship or academic project experience is acceptable). Familiarity with integrated systems and data workflows, and exposure to issue-tracking tools like Azure DevOps are desirable.
