Job Purpose
The Partnerships Specialist will deepen collaboration with key stakeholders to enhance UNICEF's visibility and influence. This role involves environmental scanning, knowledge exchange, resource mobilization, and policy influence. The specialist will act as a focal point for colleagues on strategic partnership development, ensuring UNICEF's mission is supported through strengthened external relationships. The primary objective is to foster greater recognition and impact for UNICEF's work by building and managing strategic alliances with a diverse range of partners.
Responsibilities
The Partnerships Specialist will implement work plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of results aligned with UNICEF’s partnership strategy. This includes actively seeking and promoting new partnerships and resource mobilization opportunities, working with UNICEF colleagues to identify needs and broker agreements. The role involves screening inquiries from potential collaborators, facilitating communication, and scanning the external environment for partnership opportunities and risks. Strategic, logistical, and programmatic support will be provided to senior management and staff for corporate engagement. Developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of current and prospective partners and stakeholders is crucial, contributing to a database of contacts and UNICEF's knowledge base on partnerships. The specialist will expand UNICEF’s network of key interlocutors, building stronger relationships with governments, decision-makers, regional institutions, foundations, civil society, and international financial institutions. Annual partnership engagement and resource mobilization plans will be developed and implemented. The role serves as a focal point for outreach, engagement, and policy influence, ensuring UNICEF's interests and perspectives are considered in relevant processes and that partners are aware of UNICEF's capabilities. Contributions will be made to developing new partnership and resource mobilization practices and approaches through analysis and recommendations.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of professional experience in partnership development, resource mobilization, or a related field, preferably within a UN or international organization context. Experience in developing countries is an asset.
