Job Purpose
The Nutrition Officer will provide sound technical support for the integration and delivery of high-impact nutrition interventions at national and sub-national levels. This includes supporting the implementation of the Nutrition SBC Strategy and Campaign and Food System interventions aimed at enhancing dietary diversity, preventing childhood illnesses, and improving maternal, infant, and young child nutrition (MIYCN) practices. The role involves managing organizational resources efficiently, monitoring results, and tracking grant utilization to ensure compliance with standards, UNICEF guidelines, and donor requirements. The officer will contribute to the development, planning, and implementation of nutrition programmes, ensuring effective coordination, quality assurance, and partnership building for resource mobilization and programme success.
Responsibilities
Support nutrition programme development, planning, and implementation, providing technical guidance and coordination for efficient and effective execution. Ensure effective nutrition programme management, monitoring, and quality assurance to achieve desired results. Foster effective partnerships and networking, engaging in advocacy and information sharing to support resource mobilization and successful implementation of nutrition programmes. Drive innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the nutrition sector. Track and manage the utilization of grants, ensuring compliance with results-based principles, UNICEF guidelines, and donor conditionalities. Provide technical support for the integration and delivery of high-impact nutrition interventions at national and sub-national levels across sectors. Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience in health and nutrition programmes. Experience in implementing nutrition or food systems strengthening programmes is required. Experience working in the UN or other international development organizations, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts, is desirable.
