Job Purpose
UNICEF Ecuador seeks a Fundraising Specialist to spearhead its private sector fundraising strategy. This role involves building meaningful partnerships and inspiring businesses, donors, and supporters to generate lasting impact for children. The specialist will lead all private sector fundraising efforts and enhance engagement with businesses and key influencers. Reporting to the Representative, the position is responsible for the overall coordination, planning, development, and execution of the country office’s private sector fundraising strategy, ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s global private sector objectives. The goal is to significantly increase private sector contributions to support UNICEF's mission in Ecuador.
Responsibilities
The Fundraising Specialist will lead and manage the Private Sector Fundraising Team, developing and implementing the country office’s Private Sector Plan to achieve set goals. Key responsibilities include acquiring, cultivating, and retaining individual donors and supporters, and establishing and managing meaningful partnerships with businesses and organizations. The role requires developing and implementing a comprehensive private sector plan aligned with organizational priorities, conducting fundraising analysis to identify growth opportunities, and assessing fundraising performance. The specialist will also develop and implement effective donor acquisition strategies, strengthen individual donor retention, and build and maintain long-term relationships with private sector partners, donors, businesses, and key influencers. Strategic leadership across various fundraising channels and partnership activities is essential, supported by strong expertise in analyzing fundraising data, donor behavior, and partnership pipelines.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of professional experience in private sector fundraising is required, with a proven track record of setting and meeting income targets. Familiarity with the private sector and previous managerial experience are essential.
