Job Purpose
This is a general vacancy announcement for multiple upcoming People & Culture Assistant GS-5 and Finance Assistant GS-5 entry-level positions at UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest. The role supports UNICEF's global operations by managing HR, recruitment, and finance-related transactions and administrative processes. Successful candidates will be considered for fixed-term and temporary posts in departments like People Administration and Finance. The position ensures accurate and timely processing of information in UNICEF's ERP systems, adhering to UN and UNICEF rules, procedures, and quality standards. It offers exposure to international operations and contributes to high-quality global service delivery, making a significant impact on children's rights.
Responsibilities
The People & Culture Assistant / Finance Assistant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and all HR, recruitment, and payroll processes in compliance with policies and procedures. This includes monitoring and verifying data to uphold the highest standards of accuracy, quality, and confidentiality, while ensuring data privacy and protection. The role requires efficient planning and prioritization of tasks to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA) and maintain financial integrity. It involves contributing to the update of knowledge articles, SOPs, and working documentation, and participating in knowledge-sharing activities to promote continuous learning and process improvements. The assistant will identify opportunities to simplify, streamline, and standardize processes for maximum efficiency. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is crucial for effective communication and coordination, including participation in testing for business process and system changes to ensure proper calculations.
Work Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in finance, human resources, administration, or other relevant field of work is required.
