Job Purpose

UNICEF Nepal, in collaboration with government stakeholders, is organizing a national-level Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) Master Training of Trainers (M-ToT) in Kathmandu. This initiative aims to strengthen nutrition-focused SBC capacity in support of Nepal’s Multi-Sector Nutrition Plan III, the SBC Capacity Development Plan 2026, the 16th National Plan, and the Sustainable Development Goals. The consultancy will design and facilitate a competency-based SBC training package. This package will enhance participants’ practical skills in analysing behavioural drivers, designing context-specific nutrition SBC interventions, facilitating participatory learning, monitoring behaviour change outcomes, and institutionalizing SBC within multi-sector nutrition systems across federal, provincial, and local levels. The goal is to build a national pool of skilled SBC and nutrition professionals capable of cascading capacity-building efforts.

Responsibilities

Design and facilitate a competency-based Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) training package for a Master Training of Trainers (M-ToT) on nutrition. This includes developing training materials and modules that are practical and context-specific to Nepal. Facilitate a three-day M-ToT in Kathmandu, followed by three-day provincial Training of Trainers events in Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim. The training will focus on strengthening participants’ practical skills in analysing behavioural drivers of nutrition issues, designing effective and context-specific nutrition SBC interventions, and employing participatory facilitation methodologies. Participants will also learn to monitor behaviour change outcomes and institutionalize SBC principles within multi-sector nutrition systems at federal, provincial, and local levels. Ensure the training aligns with Nepal’s Multi-Sector Nutrition Plan III, the SBC Capacity Development Plan 2026, the 16th National Plan, and the Sustainable Development Goals. Provide guidance and support to participants to enable them to cascade capacity-building efforts effectively within their respective regions and institutions. Contribute to the development of a sustainable national pool of skilled SBC and nutrition professionals.

Work Experience

10 years of experience in designing and facilitating SBC capacity-building programmes. This includes practical application of behavioural science, social norms analysis, participatory facilitation, nutrition programming, equity-focused approaches, and government systems strengthening, specifically within the context of Nepal.
