Job Purpose
The Project Coordinator will be engaged under a UNICEF contract and will report administratively and contractually to the UNICEF Chief, Business Strategy and Operations, or another UNICEF supervisor designated in writing. UNICEF, as Lead Agency, will manage the contract, performance evaluation, acceptance of deliverables and payments. The Project Coordinator will work in close coordination with the CPWG Co-Chairs and representatives of WHO, UNDP and UNICEF, and will support the PMB. The Project Coordinator will conduct space-needs assessments, support space planning and prepare floor plans in accordance with UN requirements. The Project Coordinator will provide technical quality assurance and serve as a technical liaison with Government counterparts, within the authority delegated by the Lead Agency and the agreed communication channels, on construction, interior design and fit-out. For handover, the Project Coordinator will assess readiness, verify permits and compliance documentation, and prepare recommendations. The PMB will decide on final acceptance, and UNICEF as Lead Agency will formally effect the acceptance and handover on behalf of the participating agencies, subject to the applicable agreements and delegated authority.
Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing the UN Common Premises project in Istanbul, Türkiye. This includes conducting space-needs assessments, supporting space planning, and preparing floor plans in accordance with UN requirements. The role involves providing technical quality assurance and acting as a technical liaison with Government counterparts on construction, interior design, and fit-out aspects. For project handover, the coordinator will assess readiness, verify permits and compliance documentation, and prepare recommendations for final acceptance by the PMB. UNICEF, as the Lead Agency, will manage the contract, performance evaluation, and payments. The Project Coordinator will work in close coordination with the CPWG Co-Chairs and representatives from WHO, UNDP, and UNICEF, supporting the Project Management Board (PMB).

5 years of experience in project management and overseeing building construction and interior design for administrative or office buildings.
