Job Purpose
This role is responsible for managing the Contracting & Logistics Portfolio, encompassing supply/contract planning, forecasting, procurement, delivery, customs clearance, warehousing, in-country transport, and distribution. The position ensures effective supply chain service delivery and plays a crucial role in emergency response efforts. It involves close collaboration with programme teams and implementing partners, providing technical and advisory support to government and national systems. The Supply & Logistics Manager is key to ensuring that UNICEF's operational needs are met efficiently and effectively, contributing directly to the organization's mission of serving children and communities.
Responsibilities
Manage the Contracting & Logistics Portfolio, including supply/contract planning, forecasting, procurement, delivery, and customs clearance. Oversee warehousing, in-country transport, and distribution of supplies, ensuring efficient monitoring. Drive supply chain service delivery and lead logistics operations during emergency responses. Collaborate closely with programme sections and implementing partners to align supply chain activities with programmatic needs. Provide technical and advisory support to government and national systems to strengthen their supply chain capacities. Ensure compliance with UNICEF's financial rules and regulations, as well as procurement and logistics policies. Develop and implement innovative solutions to optimize supply chain performance and mitigate risks. Prepare regular reports on supply chain operations, performance indicators, and challenges. Contribute to the development and implementation of supply chain strategies and work plans.
Work Experience
8 years of relevant work experience in supply management/contracting/logistics, supply chain management, procurement, contract management, vendor management, warehousing, inventory management, transportation management, customs clearance, or emergency logistics.
