Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the development of a global nutrition monitoring guide. This guide aims to strengthen countries’ nutrition information systems, enabling better data collection, analysis, and utilization for improved nutrition outcomes for children. The consultant will play a key role in shaping the content and structure of this crucial resource, ensuring it is practical, evidence-based, and adaptable to diverse country contexts. This initiative is vital for UNICEF's commitment to monitoring progress towards nutrition goals and advocating for children's rights.
Responsibilities
Support the development of a comprehensive global nutrition monitoring guide. This includes researching best practices in nutrition information systems, identifying key indicators, and proposing methodologies for data collection and analysis. The consultant will be responsible for drafting sections of the guide, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with UNICEF's strategic objectives. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with internal UNICEF teams and potentially external experts to gather input and feedback. The consultant will also assist in developing training materials and tools to support the implementation of the guide in various country offices. Experience in consulting with national governments and providing technical assistance will be leveraged to ensure the guide is practical and implementable. The consultant will contribute to ensuring the guide effectively addresses the data needs for monitoring nutrition programs and policies.
Work Experience
At least 8 years of professional work experience in nutrition programming, monitoring, and administrative data for nutrition or related technical fields. Previous experience in developing guidance and indicator materials for monitoring, and experience consulting with national governments are required.
