Job Purpose
The consultant will support UNICEF China's Communication Section in creating impactful content and coordinating events for World Children's Day (WCD) 2026, themed UNICEF@80. This involves contributing to the production of WCD content, assisting with event coordination, and engaging with media to enhance visibility and audience engagement. The role aims to strengthen UNICEF China's advocacy and communication objectives for WCD, UNICEF80, and related campaigns. The consultant will play a key role in ensuring timely and high-quality output for both offline and online activities planned across the country in the lead-up to and on the day of the event, aligning with UNICEF's mission to advance children's rights and well-being.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the creation of compelling content for World Children's Day (WCD) and UNICEF@80 initiatives, including multimedia assets and written materials. Assist in the coordination of both offline and online events, ensuring smooth execution from planning to implementation. Engage with media outlets to secure coverage and amplify UNICEF's message. Support the development and execution of communication strategies to enhance visibility and audience engagement. Ensure all communication outputs are accurate, culturally relevant, and aligned with UNICEF's brand guidelines and advocacy objectives. Manage relationships with various stakeholders, including partners, vendors, and performers, under tight deadlines. Provide support for event production processes, including run-of-show design and live coordination for hybrid events. Translate press releases, speeches, and social media assets into Chinese, maintaining accuracy and cultural appropriateness. Coordinate logistics and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to deliver outputs on time and to a high professional standard. Support the overall communication and advocacy efforts of UNICEF China for WCD, UNICEF80, and other relevant campaigns.
