The Innovative Finance (IF) Hub in Helsinki aims to catalyze global capital for children and accelerate progress towards the SDGs by understanding and solving why finance is not working for children.

Job Purpose

The Innovative Finance (IF) Hub is seeking a communication consultant to support the development and effective implementation of its Communication Plan. This role will focus on creating and disseminating communication materials to meet external-facing advocacy and communication needs, and to enhance internal visibility. The consultant will be responsible for providing visibility to the IF Hub's initiatives, particularly child-lens investing, a strategy to increase awareness, action, and investment in children's rights and outcomes within the financial sector. This involves engaging with the financial ecosystem to advance the agenda and ensure children are considered in investment practices. The consultant will play a key role in positioning and visibility efforts, contributing to the Hub's mission of filling the SDG funding gap for children.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement the IF Hub Communication Plan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and advocacy strategies. Create compelling communication materials, including press releases, social media content, website copy, presentations, and reports, tailored for diverse external audiences within the financial sector and beyond. Support the external positioning and visibility of the IF Hub's flagship initiatives, such as child-lens investing, through strategic communication efforts. Manage and update communication channels, including the IF Hub's section of the UNICEF website and relevant social media platforms. Coordinate with internal UNICEF teams and external partners to gather information, ensure consistent messaging, and amplify communication reach. Support the development of communication strategies for specific events, campaigns, and partnerships. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication activities, providing regular reports on key performance indicators and recommending adjustments. Assist in organizing and promoting events, webinars, and workshops related to innovative finance and children's rights. Ensure all communication materials adhere to UNICEF's branding guidelines and quality standards. Contribute to fostering a strong understanding and engagement with the IF Hub's work across the financial ecosystem.

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of professional experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, preferably within the development, finance, or international organization sector. Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies and creating diverse communication materials is essential. Familiarity with innovative finance concepts and the Sustainable Development Goals is an asset.
