Job Purpose
The intern will support the Child Protection Section in implementing capacity-building initiatives under the Child Protection Programme, with a specific focus on cascade training for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Case Management, Child Justice, and Children on the Move. This role involves assisting in the planning, coordination, and documentation of training activities, supporting the development of learning materials, and coordinating with government counterparts and implementing partners. The intern will also contribute to monitoring training implementation, preparing programme documentation, and developing communication materials in line with UNICEF branding guidelines, gaining valuable experience in child protection systems strengthening and programme management.
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, coordination, and documentation of cascade training activities related to MHPSS, Case Management, Child Justice, and Children on the Move. Support the development, review, and formatting of training curricula, facilitator guides, presentations, and other learning materials. Coordinate with government counterparts, implementing partners, consultants, and facilitators to ensure the effective implementation of training activities. Prepare meeting minutes, briefing notes, reports, and other programme documentation as required. Support the monitoring of training implementation, participant tracking, and knowledge management processes. Contribute to the development of communication and visibility materials, including success stories, photographs, social media content, and event highlights, in coordination with the Communications team and adhering to UNICEF branding guidelines. Gain hands-on experience in child protection systems strengthening, child justice, MHPSS, case management, and children's rights. Strengthen skills in programme coordination, training management, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and communications.
Work Experience
Previous professional experience is not required. Academic, volunteer, or extracurricular experience related to child protection, research, training, or community engagement is an asset. Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Canva/Adobe is desirable. Basic data management, report writing, and communication skills are necessary. Experience creating communication or social media content is desirable.
