Job Purpose
The Supply & Logistics Associate (G-7) plays a crucial role in managing UNICEF's supply chains, handling complex cases and client requests that often require evaluating difficult situations and adapting procedures. Responsibilities
The Supply & Logistics Associate is responsible for the comprehensive management of UNICEF's supply chain operations. Key duties include planning and forecasting supply needs, executing procurement processes and contracting, managing in-country logistics, and overseeing warehousing and inventory control to ensure efficiency and compliance. The role involves fostering partnerships, coordination, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. A significant aspect is strengthening national and government supply chains through capacity building and the implementation of best practices. The associate will also explore and manage alternative delivery mechanisms, procurement services, and supply financing options, contributing to localization efforts. Furthermore, the position requires active participation in emergency preparedness and response, ensuring timely and effective delivery of essential supplies. Maintaining accurate information and data management, along with regular reporting, is critical for monitoring and evaluating supply chain performance. The role may also involve supervisory responsibilities for other staff members within the supply and logistics team.
Work Experience
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Supply Management/Contracting/Logistics, Administration, Import/Export, Emergency, Transportation, and any other related fields.
