Job Purpose
The UNICEF Cameroon office seeks a National Consultant to provide technical and operational support for a study redefining Priority Education Zones (ZEP). This role is crucial for aligning educational interventions with national development strategies and addressing persistent challenges in access, equity, inclusion, and quality of learning. The consultant will facilitate coordination with national stakeholders, ensure access to data, support data collection and validation, and contribute to the organization of technical workshops. This position is instrumental in strengthening the educational system by ensuring targeted interventions are based on accurate, locally relevant data and stakeholder input, ultimately contributing to more equitable educational outcomes for children across Cameroon.
Responsibilities
The National Consultant will provide close proximity technical and operational support, institutional facilitation, and national coordination for the study on redefining Priority Education Zones (ZEP). Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining continuous liaison between the study team and national institutions, facilitating communication with MINEDUB, MINESEC, MINEPAT, MINDEVEL, INS, BUCREP, INC, FEICOM, CVUCs, ARC, and other relevant structures.
- Ensuring timely follow-up on requests for information and data.
- Facilitating the mobilization of sectoral and territorial actors.
- Identifying key data sources relevant to the study.
- Facilitating the acquisition of administrative and statistical data.
- Supporting data collection, consolidation, documentation, and validation processes.
- Coordinating consultations with national, regional, and local stakeholders.
- Contributing to the preparation and organization of technical and validation workshops.
- Working in close collaboration with the international technical assistance team and under the supervision of UNICEF.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in education sector analysis, project management, or policy support, preferably within a national or international organization. Experience in data collection, analysis, and stakeholder coordination is required.
