Job Purpose
The Public Partnership Specialist will play a crucial role in strengthening UNICEF's engagement with the U.S. government and other public sector partners. This position is vital for positioning children's rights within governmental and multilateral forums, and for fostering collaborations that mobilize resources and support for UNICEF's programs. The specialist will contribute to elevating the Washington Office's external engagement profile, ensuring that UNICEF's advocacy efforts are effectively communicated and supported by key stakeholders. By driving partnership development, providing strategic insights, and coordinating advocacy initiatives, the role directly contributes to advancing the rights and well-being of children worldwide, aligning with UNICEF's core mission and equity strategy.
Responsibilities
The Public Partnership Specialist will be responsible for driving partnership development and resource mobilization efforts, with a specific focus on engagement with the U.S. government and other public sector entities. This includes supporting strategic engagement by gathering relevant insights and formulating advice for management. The role involves actively participating in policy advocacy and developing effective communication products to support these efforts. Additionally, the specialist will coordinate the planning, organization, and execution of advocacy events aimed at raising awareness and securing support for children's rights. A key aspect of the role is to elevate the Washington Office's external engagement profile and to manage knowledge related to partnerships and advocacy. This position requires liaising with various stakeholders, including potentially the Legislative Branch, to build and maintain strong relationships and advance UNICEF's objectives. The specialist will also contribute to resource mobilization strategies and support the development of collaborative initiatives.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in partnerships, government relations, public sector partnerships, legislative affairs, external relations, stakeholder engagement, or political analysis. Experience liaising with the U.S. Government, particularly the Legislative Branch, is essential.
