Job Purpose

The UNICEF Cambodia Country Programme 2024-2028 aims to contribute to national efforts so that all girls and boys, particularly the most disadvantaged, can progressively fulfil their basic rights to survival, care, protection, and participation, enabling them to reach their full potential. This is achieved through five interconnected programme components: health and nutrition; WASH; education; child protection; and policy and public financing for children. The Policy and Public Finance for Children Section collaborates with various national ministries and sub-national administrations to advance these goals, ensuring a rights-based approach for every child.

Responsibilities

The National Intern: Social Policy Analysis will support the UNICEF Cambodia Country Programme by contributing to the work of the Policy and Public Finance for Children Section. This involves assisting in the analysis of social policies and public financing mechanisms relevant to children's rights and well-being. The intern will work closely with national ministries and sub-national administrations, gaining practical experience in policy research and implementation. Responsibilities include data collection, preliminary analysis, and report drafting under supervision. The role requires engagement with diverse stakeholders and a commitment to UNICEF's mission. The intern will also support the section in monitoring and evaluating programme activities, ensuring alignment with the country programme's objectives and UNICEF's global strategies. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in social policy, public finance, and child rights advocacy within a dynamic international development context.

Work Experience

No specific work experience is required, but a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a basic requirement. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Power BI is considered a plus.
