Job Purpose
The Knowledge Management Specialist will be responsible for designing and coordinating knowledge management transition processes, ensuring effective knowledge capture and handover within teams and at the individual level. This role involves establishing and maintaining accessible, high-quality knowledge systems, and facilitating capacity building to ensure the effective utilization of knowledge during transitions. The specialist will play a crucial role in supporting organizational learning and change management initiatives, ensuring that valuable insights and best practices are retained and disseminated. This position contributes to UNICEF's mission by strengthening the organization's ability to learn from its experiences and adapt to evolving needs, ultimately enhancing its impact on children's rights.
Responsibilities
Design and coordinate knowledge management transition strategies and processes to ensure continuity and learning during organizational changes. Facilitate knowledge capture and handover sessions for both teams and individuals, documenting key information and lessons learned. Develop and implement systems for knowledge accessibility and quality assurance, ensuring that information is reliable, up-to-date, and easily retrievable. Lead capacity-building initiatives to empower staff in utilizing knowledge management tools and practices effectively. Support the integration of knowledge management into programme planning and implementation cycles. Collaborate with various departments to identify knowledge gaps and develop strategies to address them. Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the country office. Ensure that knowledge management practices align with UNICEF's global standards and best practices. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives, making recommendations for improvement. Contribute to the development of knowledge products and resources. Support the transition of knowledge to new teams or individuals during staff changes or project handovers.
Work Experience
At least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in knowledge management, organizational learning, change/transition support, knowledge exchange, evidence curation and dissemination, programme support, or related advisory support is required.
