Job Purpose
The Public Partnerships Specialist will focus on UNICEF’s partnerships with the World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund (IMF), and other International Financial Institutions (IFIs). The role contributes to strengthening UNICEF's strategic positioning with IFIs by monitoring institutional and political developments, identifying opportunities for policy influence, resource mobilization, and strategic collaboration. The position supports high-level engagement with senior partner counterparts, provides strategic analysis, partnership guidance, and coordination across the organization to ensure coherent and effective engagement with IFIs. The incumbent serves as a resource for colleagues on IFI-related partnership opportunities and contributes to positioning UNICEF as a trusted partner in advancing sustainable development outcomes for children.
Responsibilities
Contribute to developing, implementing, and monitoring influence, engagement, and advocacy strategies and plans with the World Bank Group and assigned public partners, advising senior management. Inform and influence partner agendas to position UNICEF as a partner of choice for income and influence. Develop and facilitate knowledge, familiarity, and contact with assigned partners and relevant stakeholders. Arrange and attend relevant meetings, providing support to management’s engagement. Coordinate with other parts of UNICEF on relevant discussions and issues. Negotiate, plan, and coordinate events as a platform for UNICEF's engagement on strategic issues for children. Contribute to developing, implementing, and monitoring resource mobilization strategies and plans. Contribute to risk management, including due diligence and compliance with partner requirements. Support senior management's interactions with partners and contribute to the day-to-day management of contact with resource partners. Provide strategic and technical support to senior management. Monitor, analyze, and report on global trends in development cooperation, partner policies, strategies, programmes, and budgets and their implications for children. Provide political analysis and advice by identifying political developments and assessing implications.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in international development, public partnerships, resource mobilization, or a related field. Experience working with International Financial Institutions (IFIs) is an asset.
