Job Purpose
UNICEF works towards the realization of children's rights as prescribed in the Convention of the Rights of the Child, focusing on survival, protection, development, and participation. The Child Protection and Development Unit (CPD) within the Data and Analytics Section produces data and knowledge products for communication, advocacy, donor relations, and fundraising. These products, including reports, toolkits, proposals, articles, and digital content, are aimed at both internal and external audiences and are disseminated through various channels. To support this, UNICEF seeks a copyeditor to finalize these knowledge products.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for copyediting and proofreading knowledge products developed by the Child Protection and Development Unit (CPD) within the Data and Analytics Section. This includes ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of content for various audiences such as the general public, donors, governments, and partners. The role involves refining data-driven thematic reports, brochures, technical documents, toolkits, funding proposals, donor reports, academic articles, blog posts, digital products, webpage content, and concept notes. The copyeditor will ensure that all materials meet the highest international standards of quality and adhere to UNICEF's communication guidelines and branding. This position requires meticulous attention to detail to catch errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style. The consultant will work remotely, collaborating with the CPD team to finalize these crucial communication and advocacy materials, ensuring they are polished and effective for their intended dissemination through online platforms, social media, partner networks, and donor reports.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in journalism, editing, copyediting, proofreading, and/or communications is required.
