Job Purpose
The International Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting UNICEF's Country Programme development process. This involves contributing to key phases of programme development, including thorough document review, facilitating programmatic discussions among stakeholders, and producing essential documentation and key papers. The consultant's expertise will be vital in shaping the strategic direction and operational framework of UNICEF's country-level programmes, ensuring alignment with global goals and local needs. This consultancy aims to enhance the quality and effectiveness of UNICEF's programming by leveraging strategic thinking and evidence-based approaches to drive impactful outcomes for children.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for supporting the Country Programme development process through various critical activities. This includes conducting comprehensive reviews of existing documents and relevant literature to inform programme strategy. A key responsibility will be to facilitate programmatic discussions, engaging diverse stakeholders to foster collaboration and consensus-building. The consultant will also be tasked with documenting key outcomes, decisions, and recommendations from these discussions, and preparing essential papers and reports that articulate the programme's direction. This role requires strong analytical and synthesis skills to translate complex information into actionable programmatic choices. The consultant must be adept at working within complex, multi-stakeholder environments, challenging constructively, and proposing innovative approaches to programme design. Work Experience
Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in programme planning and development, with strong experience in UNICEF planning processes, including CPD development. Proven experience in facilitating high-level strategic discussions and working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments is required.
