Job Purpose
The consultancy aims to strengthen and update tools for working with adolescents in Colombia. The consultant will be responsible for the collection, development, and enhancement of methodologies and tangible products such as guides and manuals. This role is crucial for supporting UNICEF's mandate in protecting the rights of children and adolescents, particularly in areas of education, participation, and leadership. The consultant will contribute to the effective implementation of the UNICEF Colombia Cooperation Program (2025-2028) by providing practical resources that empower and engage young people, ensuring their voices are heard and their potential is realized.
Responsibilities
The consultant will lead the process of collecting, reviewing, and updating existing tools and methodologies used for working with adolescents. This includes developing new, innovative, and participatory tools that address key areas such as education, participation, and leadership. The consultant will be responsible for creating tangible outputs like guides, manuals, and other educational materials, ensuring they are culturally relevant and accessible to the target audience. A significant part of the role involves facilitating workshops or training sessions to test and refine these tools, incorporating feedback from adolescents and stakeholders. The consultant will also document the entire process, including the methodologies developed and the results achieved, providing a comprehensive report at the end of the assignment. This will involve close collaboration with the UNICEF Programme Section and relevant government and civil society partners to ensure alignment with program objectives and national strategies for child protection.
Work Experience
Proven experience in developing methodologies with tangible products (e.g., manuals, guides) related to child and adolescent issues. At least two years of experience in information management and documentation (analysis and collection), and at least one year in developing participatory, educational, or training methodologies.
