Job Purpose
This position will be responsible for providing technical, operational, and procedural support, as well as end-user services, for the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems, procedures, and activities of the UNICEF Office in Costa Rica. This will be done in accordance with the ICT work plan, in alignment with the office's annual management plan, and with the global ICTD strategy. The role is crucial for ensuring the smooth functioning of ICT infrastructure and services, supporting the office's operations and its mission to serve children and communities worldwide.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support to office users, resolving hardware, software, and application incidents. Train and guide users on the use of UNICEF standard tools and systems. Install, configure, and deploy new equipment and software. Support the implementation and operation of corporate IT applications. Coordinate with vendors for the servicing and follow-up of repairs and technological services. Maintain an updated inventory of office ICT equipment and assets. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, including backups, system monitoring, patch management, and IT security. Manage user access to systems, platforms, and databases. Advise management and staff on ICT policies, procedures, and best practices. Support the development, testing, and updating of the Business Continuity Plan to ensure operational continuity. Contribute to other ICT unit activities and projects as needed by the office.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of work experience in the field of information and communication technology, including hardware and software installation, user support, and the development of end-user documentation to support office computerization.
