Organizational Context
UNICEF Nicaragua aims to establish a roster of pre-selected consultants in education and related fields to provide technical assistance for program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. This roster will enable a swift response to programmatic needs in both development and humanitarian contexts within Nicaragua.

In Nicaragua, the Education Program focuses on ensuring quality access, retention, and learning for children and adolescents, emphasizing equity, inclusion, gender, educational innovation, climate resilience, and support for vulnerable populations. The program aligns with national and international commitments to enhance fundamental, socio-emotional, and life skills, promoting inclusive, equitable, relevant, and quality learning in safe, healthy, and resilient environments. It also supports the educational participation and retention of vulnerable groups, including children with disabilities, those affected by humanitarian situations, pregnant adolescents, and students from low-income households.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of consultants will be to provide specialized technical assistance in various areas of education as per UNICEF's programmatic needs in Nicaragua. This includes contributing to the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of educational programs and projects. Consultants will be expected to support the strengthening of educational policies, programs, and services in close coordination with the Ministry of Education and other strategic partners. Specific tasks may involve developing educational materials, conducting research, providing teacher training, supporting digital transformation in education, and developing mechanisms for educational continuity in humanitarian contexts. Consultants will also be responsible for analyzing data, preparing technical reports, and potentially managing digital platforms. Their work will contribute to enhancing the quality of learning, promoting inclusive and intercultural education, and ensuring that vulnerable children and adolescents have access to quality education.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in one or more thematic areas of the roster, including experience in educational programs, teacher training, curriculum design, research, and technical assistance within the Nicaraguan education system.
