Job Purpose
The Gateways to Public Digital Learning Initiative, co-led by UNICEF and UNESCO, supports governments in designing, governing, and sustaining safe, equitable, and high-quality public digital learning platforms. This consultancy will provide dedicated coordination, technical, research, and knowledge-management support to the Gateways Initiative over a one-year period, aligning with the broader 2026–2028 Gateways workplan. It will cover the Gateways dashboard and Knowledge Hub, country engagement and technical assistance, study visits and peer learning, the UNESCO-UNICEF Charter for Public Digital Learning Platforms, evidence generation, communications, reporting, and partnership coordination. The consultancy also contributes to UNICEF's Digital Education Strategy 2025–2030, supporting evidence-based, human-centered, and scalable digital education approaches to improve learning outcomes, empower teachers, strengthen national systems, and promote equity and inclusion.
Responsibilities
Provide dedicated coordination, technical, research, and knowledge-management support to the Gateways to Public Digital Learning Initiative. Oversee the Gateways dashboard and Knowledge Hub, ensuring its effective functioning and content relevance. Facilitate country engagement and technical assistance activities, supporting participating governments. Organize and coordinate study visits and peer learning events to foster knowledge exchange among stakeholders. Support the development and implementation of the UNESCO-UNICEF Charter for Public Digital Learning Platforms. Lead evidence generation efforts, including research and data analysis related to public digital learning. Develop and disseminate communications materials to promote the initiative's objectives and achievements. Manage reporting requirements for the initiative, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Coordinate partnerships with governments, UN agencies, development partners, and technical institutions. Contribute to the implementation of UNICEF's Digital Education Strategy 2025–2030, focusing on scalable and equitable digital education approaches. Prepare technical notes, reports, case studies, presentations, and other knowledge products. Manage donor reporting, partnership monitoring, and financial tracking as required. Synthesize research and evidence into accessible formats for communication and advocacy. Organize meetings, workshops, study visits, and technical exchanges to facilitate collaboration and learning.
Work Experience
At least five years of relevant professional experience in education, digital learning, international development, public-sector digital transformation, knowledge management, or project coordination. Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives, preferably involving governments, UN agencies, or development partners. Experience supporting digital education, EdTech, or digital public goods.
