Job Purpose
The Technical Assistant will ensure the effective, coordinated, and results-oriented implementation of the project 'Support for behavior change on nutrition-sensitive agricultural practices of family farms and institutional strengthening of 09 ORN/ONN'. The role involves providing expertise in key intervention areas such as project planning, management, monitoring, and results achievement. The Assistant will also offer technical and operational support for project implementation, foster networking and partnerships, and contribute to innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building. This consultancy aims to enhance nutrition-sensitive agricultural practices and institutional capacity within the specified project framework in Madagascar.
Responsibilities
The Technical Assistant will collaborate closely with the UNICEF Madagascar team, implementing partners, and technical/institutional partners. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and planning project/program activities in line with project objectives.
- Managing project/program execution, monitoring progress, and ensuring the achievement of expected results.
- Providing technical and operational support to facilitate the smooth implementation of project activities.
- Facilitating networking and building strong partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
- Contributing to innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building initiatives related to nutrition and agriculture.
- Ensuring effective coordination among all project stakeholders.
- Reporting on project progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Supporting the development of training materials and facilitating training sessions on nutrition and behavior change communication.
- Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of project activities and outcomes.
Work Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant national professional experience in planning and management, or in relevant program areas related to strengthening food and nutrition security. Experience with community nutrition programs and multisectoral nutrition in Madagascar is required.
