Job Purpose
The Programme Associate (G-6) will provide specialized programme and administrative support to facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF's health programmes in Nigeria, specifically within the HSS cluster of the Health Section. Working under the guidance of the Health Manager, this role is crucial for bridging operational delivery by liaising with various internal units (Programme, Operations, Finance, Supply) and external partners, including government ministries, NGOs, and donors. The position requires substantial engagement in data analysis, budget tracking, reporting, and coordination to ensure effective programme delivery and compliance with organizational rules. The Programme Associate will exercise judgment, anticipate needs, and recommend actions to enhance programme planning, implementation, and reporting, ultimately contributing to the achievement of UNICEF's mission for children.
Responsibilities
The Programme Associate will be responsible for Project Management and Implementing Partnership Coordination, which includes creating project plans, objectives, and deliverables, and tracking resources like time and budget. They will also manage data, conduct analysis, and generate reports, identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies, and summarizing findings for decision-making. Grant management, budget monitoring, and reporting are key functions, ensuring financial compliance and efficient resource allocation. The role involves Digital Innovation & Operational Efficiency, utilizing AI-powered tools for data analysis and ensuring alignment with internal regulations. Communication, Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination will involve writing clear reports and documents, and presenting information effectively. Capacity Building & Event Coordination will support program activities and stakeholder engagement. The associate will also provide Flexibility & Surge Support as needed across various programme and operational functions, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to supporting UNICEF's mission in Nigeria.
Work Experience
A minimum of six years of progressive administrative or clerical work experience is required. Experience in programme support, data management, and coordination within an international organization or NGO is highly desirable.
