Job Purpose
The Partnerships Specialist will play a crucial role in deepening collaboration with key stakeholders to enhance environmental scanning, knowledge exchange, resource mobilization, and policy influence within the scope of the Muskoka Funds Initiative. This position is integral to the Muskoka Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) and will provide dedicated support for resource mobilization and leveraging to ensure its success in attracting more partners and resources. The incumbent will serve as a focal point and resource for colleagues on specific thematic areas relevant to partnership development, ultimately aiming to increase visibility for UNICEF and strengthen its influence in support of its mission. The key result is to ensure the MPTF succeeds in attracting more partners and resources to sustain the important achievements made at the country level.
Responsibilities
Design and manage engagement strategies and plans to increase the quality and quantity of resources for the Muskoka MPTF, identifying potential funding sources from public and private sectors, and monitoring/evaluating fundraising channels. Provide technical guidance and support to participating countries to strengthen their capacity in partnerships, resource mobilization, leveraging, and management of public and private partnerships. Facilitate and maintain relations with embassies, missions, and other public and private sector partners in Dakar/Senegal, the region, and their headquarters, in coordination with other participating UN entities. Advocate for strategic partnerships with key regional and international stakeholders, regional intergovernmental bodies, and relevant programmatic partners, including civil society networks. Support regional and country-level fundraising activities through effective advocacy and communication strategies and activities. The Partnerships Specialist will be a core member of the Muskoka MPTF Technical Committee and will support the coordination of the high-level Steering Committee.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in partnerships, resource mobilization, or a related field is required. Experience working with inter-agency programmes and in the West and Central Africa region is desirable.
