Job Purpose

This consultancy aims to support the Department of Education, Government of Maharashtra in building a climate-resilient, coherent, scalable, and equity-focused EdTech ecosystem. The role will provide technical assistance to enhance state capacity to leverage technology for improving retention and learning outcomes at the lower secondary and secondary levels. This involves close collaboration with the State Education Department, MSCERT, academic institutions, and civil society organizations to ensure technology serves pedagogical goals, reaches marginalized learners, and is grounded in robust evidence. The initiative aligns with the Next-Gen Learning programme (2024–2026) focused on retaining adolescents and improving their foundational skills.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to the education department to enhance state capacity in leveraging technology for improved retention and learning outcomes at lower secondary and secondary levels. Collaborate closely with the State Education Department, MSCERT, academic institutions, and civil society organizations to ensure technology integration aligns with pedagogical goals, reaches the most marginalized learners, and is evidence-based. Contribute to building a climate-resilient, coherent, scalable, and equity-focused EdTech ecosystem in Maharashtra. Support the implementation of the Next-Gen Learning programme (2024–2026) to improve adolescent retention and transition to secondary school with enhanced foundational skills. Develop and deliver high-quality reports, analyses, and documentation related to EdTech integration and its impact. Facilitate capacity building and training for teachers, school leaders, or district-level education functionaries on technology-enabled learning. Engage effectively with various stakeholders including government, non-profits, EdTech organizations, and universities.

Work Experience

A minimum of 5-6 years of work experience in Education and Edtech. Experience engaging with state government, non-profits, Edtech organizations, universities, and other stakeholders. Proven experience in capacity building and training on technology-enabled learning.
