Job Purpose
In this critical role, reporting to the Chief Education (Programme/Cluster), you will contribute to the effective coordination of the Education Cluster, helping to ensure a timely, strategic, and accountable education response during humanitarian emergencies. You will support coordination among government counterparts, UN agencies, NGOs, and other partners to strengthen collaboration, facilitate information sharing, and promote a coherent, evidence-based response. Through your coordination and technical support, you will help ensure that humanitarian education interventions are aligned with the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) core functions, humanitarian standards, and the needs of crisis-affected children and communities. You will contribute to the effective coordination of the Education Cluster by supporting strategic coordination, fostering partnerships, strengthening programme delivery, and promoting innovation and learning.
Responsibilities
Coordinate humanitarian Education actors in Haiti. Develop sectoral plans and monitor the performance of the cluster. Engage in networking and partnership building with relevant stakeholders. Drive innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the education sector. Provide support to education programmes. Ensure alignment of humanitarian education interventions with IASC core functions, humanitarian standards, and the needs of crisis-affected children and communities. Facilitate information sharing and promote a coherent, evidence-based response among government counterparts, UN agencies, NGOs, and other partners. Strengthen collaboration among all education cluster members. Support strategic coordination efforts within the education cluster. Foster partnerships to enhance the effectiveness of education responses. Strengthen programme delivery to meet the needs of children in emergencies. Promote innovation and learning to improve education outcomes in humanitarian settings.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in programme planning, coordination, and management, and/or research in Education is required. Experience in humanitarian contexts is also required.
