Job Purpose
The WASH Officer (Contracts Administration) will provide essential technical support for the planning, design, procurement, contracting, implementation, and monitoring of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) interventions. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and quality delivery of rehabilitation and restoration works, acting as a key liaison between Programme, Supply, Operations, government counterparts, and contractors. The position is vital for managing the increasing operational information generated during a large-scale, multi-state emergency response, facilitating informed decision-making and advocacy for affected populations, particularly children.
Responsibilities
The WASH Officer (Contracts Administration) will be responsible for providing technical support in the planning, design, procurement, contracting, implementation, and monitoring of WASH interventions. This includes serving as a key link between Programme, Supply, Operations, government counterparts, and contractors to ensure the timely and quality delivery of rehabilitation and restoration works. The role involves managing the increasing operational information generated during the emergency response, including data on partner activities, geographical coverage, service gaps, population needs, and response progress. The officer will contribute to the transition from emergency assistance towards recovery and restoration of basic WASH services, supporting government institutions in rehabilitating and restoring essential WASH infrastructure in affected areas. Key functions include programme development and planning, programme management, monitoring, and delivery of results within the WASH sector.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in WASH, contract administration, procurement, or programme management is required. Experience in emergency response settings is an asset.
