Job Purpose

The Digital Health Consultant will provide comprehensive technical and programmatic support to strengthen the digital health ecosystem in Zambia, working under the direct supervision of the Chief of Health, UNICEF Zambia. This role is crucial for advancing digital health initiatives and ensuring effective implementation of digital public goods. The consultant will contribute to policy development, strategic planning, and fostering partnerships within the digital health sector. A key aspect of the role involves ensuring robust monitoring, evaluation, and reporting mechanisms are in place to track progress and impact. The consultant's expertise will be vital in navigating the complexities of digital health systems and driving sustainable improvements for child health outcomes in Zambia.

Responsibilities

The Digital Health Consultant will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical and programmatic support to strengthen the digital health ecosystem in Zambia. Key tasks include leading the technical and programmatic implementation of digital health initiatives, ensuring alignment with national strategies and UNICEF's goals. The incumbent will contribute to policy development and strategic planning for digital health, advising on best practices and innovative approaches. Fostering and maintaining partnerships with government ministries, development partners, and other stakeholders will be essential for effective coordination and collaboration. The consultant will also be responsible for establishing and overseeing robust monitoring, evaluation, and reporting frameworks to assess the impact and progress of digital health interventions. This includes managing data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings to inform decision-making and future planning. The role requires active engagement in capacity building and knowledge sharing within the digital health space.

Work Experience

Minimum of 7 years of experience in digital health, including system deployment and project management. Prior experience working with Ministries of Health and development partners is required. Experience with digital public goods such as DHIS2, OpenLMIS, iHRIS, and OpenMRS is also necessary.
