Job Purpose
The consultancy aims to ensure the effective coordination, continuity, and strategic transition of the UNICEF Startup Lab in Ghana, strengthening UNICEF Ghana's contribution to youth entrepreneurship, innovation, and digital public goods. The role supports the implementation of the KOICA-UNICEF initiative, fosters partnerships within the entrepreneurship and technology ecosystem, and facilitates the institutional transition of the Startup Lab into the University of Ghana under the Ghana-Korea Impact Centre of Excellence. This involves ensuring program sustainability through effective handover, stakeholder engagement, knowledge management, impact measurement, and end-of-project reporting, aligning with UNICEF's innovation and entrepreneurship agenda.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for Programme Coordination & Strategic Oversight, ensuring the smooth running and strategic direction of the Startup Lab. This includes Startup Lab Implementation, actively supporting ongoing program activities and initiatives. A key responsibility is the Transition & Institutionalization of the Startup Lab into the Ghana-Korea Impact Centre at the University of Ghana, managing the handover process and ensuring long-term sustainability. The role also involves Partnerships and Donor Reporting, cultivating relationships with stakeholders and fulfilling reporting requirements. Furthermore, the consultant will lead Monitoring, Learning & Impact Measurement, tracking progress, gathering insights, and assessing the program's impact. This includes managing timelines effectively and producing high-quality reports, knowledge products, and strategic documentation, while demonstrating strong project management and coordination skills across multiple workstreams.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience is required, including advanced knowledge of entrepreneurship ecosystems, innovation management, and startup acceleration in emerging markets. Experience with youth entrepreneurship, digital skills development, social impact innovation, and working with innovation hubs or accelerators is essential. Experience with UNICEF or UN agencies is highly desirable.
