Job Purpose
Under the overall supervision of the Director of the Asia Pacific Pillar Office in Tokyo, the consultant will provide specialized project management and coordination services to support the planning, implementation, and successful completion of the UNICEF Tokyo office relocation project. The consultant will develop and maintain the project management framework required to support the relocation, including project planning, implementation scheduling, stakeholder coordination, risk monitoring, documentation, operational readiness planning, and project closure. The assignment is limited to the office relocation project and is intended to deliver defined project outputs that support a smooth transition from the current premises to the new office. The consultancy will conclude upon completion of the relocation project and submission of the final handover package.
Responsibilities
The consultant will coordinate with relevant UNICEF colleagues, vendors, service providers, building management, and other external stakeholders to facilitate implementation of relocation activities. This includes monitoring project progress, maintaining project documentation, and producing agreed deliverables. The consultant will be responsible for developing and maintaining the project management framework, encompassing detailed project planning, implementation scheduling, and proactive risk monitoring. They will also manage stakeholder coordination and relationship management to ensure smooth communication and collaboration among all parties involved. Furthermore, the consultant will oversee operational readiness planning and ensure all aspects of the project are documented thoroughly, culminating in a comprehensive final handover package upon project completion.
Work Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, operations management, office administration, workplace transition, facilities management, office relocation, or a related field.
