Job Purpose
The Programme Specialist P3 is responsible for supporting the Representative, Deputy Representatives and wider team in implementing and following up on key strategic priorities of the Country Office and the Country Management Team. This role involves coordinating, managing, and planning activities systematically and organized manner, leading knowledge management and internal communications, and supporting risk management. The incumbent will also manage an effective system for developing SOPs, key documents, decision memos, and managing incoming and outgoing information. Additionally, the role supports the Representative in maintaining communication, coordination, and follow-up with Chiefs of Field Offices and their teams, ensuring alignment and effective operational management across different office levels.
Responsibilities
Lead and strengthen knowledge management systems for the Country Office. Support country office internal communication and change management processes. Assist senior management in coordinating, tracking, and following up on key strategic priorities, decisions, and action points. Facilitate coordination between the Country Office and Field Offices, including follow-up on supervision, operational management, programme planning, monitoring, advocacy, and emergency-related priorities. Prepare and coordinate high-quality briefing notes, talking points, decision memos, SOPs, correspondence, position papers, and other strategic documents for senior management. Manage the flow of information to and from the Representative’s Office by identifying priority issues, summarizing key points, and ensuring timely follow-up by responsible teams. Support the preparation of meetings, missions, and external engagements by researching relevant issues, drafting inputs, and ensuring accurate notes and follow-up on matters raised. Contribute to strengthening UNICEF’s profile, positioning, and coordination within the UN system and with external partners, donors, and other stakeholders.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of relevant work experience in External Relations, Public Affairs, International Development Cooperation, Human Rights, or any other related fields. Experience gained within the United Nations system, government institutions, international organizations, or non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is required.
