Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) team within the Communication Section by contributing to timely production and dissemination of communication products. This role involves close collaboration with national partners and subject matter experts to develop and implement evidence-based SBC communication solutions. The consultant will coordinate with relevant stakeholders and external vendors, ensuring quality control and overall coordination of communication initiatives. The goal is to enhance the effectiveness of UNICEF's communication efforts in areas such as WASH in schools and inclusive education, through the creation of engaging visuals, PSAs, mini-series, and other multimedia content, all pre-tested with target audiences.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) strategies and activities. This includes liaising with national partners, UN agencies, and subject matter experts to ensure alignment and effective collaboration. The role involves coordinating with external vendors for the production of various communication materials such as visuals, Public Service Announcements (PSAs), mini-series, and other multimedia content. A key responsibility is to perform quality control on all communication products to ensure they are evidence-based, culturally appropriate, and effectively pre-tested with target audiences. The consultant will also be involved in the dissemination of these communication products, ensuring wide reach and impact. Furthermore, the consultant will provide overall coordination for envisaged communication solutions, manage timelines, and report on progress. This includes maintaining strong working relationships with all stakeholders, facilitating communication flow, and contributing to the overall success of UNICEF's communication objectives in Uzbekistan.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in communication is required, with specific experience in the areas of health and education being essential. Experience working with UN agencies is considered an asset.
